Cesare Geronzi was recognized with the Special Capalbio Prize in Economics "For having enhanced the role of the banking system in Italian society, achieving a parallel and complementary structure, protective of the supportive function of the banking system that is vital to economic development while simultaneously promoting reformatory interventions for removing retention and immobility from the system”.
In the explanatory statement, the President of the Banca di Roma is praised for his capacity to "generate stability and transformation, consolidation and renewal".
